Students Won 9 awards in the Chinese University Student Computer Design Competition

On the afternoon of August 26, the 2019 (12th) Chinese University Student Computer Design Competition ‘Computer Music Creation’and ‘Digital Media Microfilm’ finals ended at the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music Grand Theatre, and the students of SCCM won 9 awards.

Professor Wen Feng, deputy dean of the school, and associate professor Lu Minjie, an electronic music department, were invited by the organizing committee to serve as judges for the finals of this competition. Young teachers, Zhang Xiyue and Li Sijie, led the team and led 10 undergraduates from the finals to participate in the final round of competition. There are 13 subcategories in the finals of the two major categories of computer music and digital media, and there are 582 finalists. After intense and intense on-site defense and review of the jury, in the final of the ‘Computer Music Creation’ class, the students of the Electronic Music Department won the first prize of the professional group, one second prize, two third prizes, and the folk music department, the piano, the orchestra, and the accordion electronic keyboard students each won the third prize of the general group. These entries are guided by the teachers of the electronic music department. In the final of the ‘Digital Media Microfilm’, the students of the Communication College won the third prize of the professional group. The competition was co-sponsored by the Computer Course Teaching Steering Committee of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, the Organizing Committee of the Chinese University Computer Design Competition, and the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. There are more than 1,700 leading teachers from 246 colleges and universities in 29 provinces and autonomous regions across the country. More than 80 contestants and professional judges gathered to discuss and exchange.

Since 2014, the Sichuan Conservatory of Music has participated in the competition for six consecutive years. It has won 34 awards in the‘Computer Music Creation’ competition, demonstrating the comprehensive strength of the school in the professional field and reflecting the advantages and characteristics of the discipline development. The outstanding performance of the teachers and students of the school in this competition was unanimously recognized and highly evaluated by the judges.

The teachers and students who participated in the competition all said that through the competition, the teachers constantly improve themselves, update the management mechanism, education concept, curriculum system and education and teaching methods. At the same time, the students can also enhance their personal ability and display their creative talents.

It is reported that the ‘Chinese University Student Computer Design Competition’ was founded in 2008 and is held once a year. It has held 11 consecutive 52 events, which is a non-profit, public welfare and technology-based traditional event for Chinese university students. It has been developed into a large-scale, wide-ranging and high-reputation A-level national competition recognized by the Ministry of Education of China, and is included in the ‘National University Academic Competition Rankings’. Contest competition projects are currently divided into software application and development, micro-course and teaching aids, Internet of Things applications, big data, artificial intelligence, information visualization design, digital media design (general group / professional group), digital media animation games, digital media micro Movies, digital media culture elements, and computer music creation categories. Among them, the computer music creation category is the only ‘national name’ event for mainland college students in mainland China.
